We now offer three training courses:

Sussex Coast Ministry Training Course, based at Eastbourne, on Tuesdays
South Downs Ministry Training Course, based at Hove, on Thursdays
Saturday Morning Bible Training Course, based at Lindfield on Saturdays

Sussex Coast Ministry Training Course (SCMTC)

SCMTC runs for 3 terms of 10 weeks each, and is based at All Souls Church in Eastbourne. The course is held on Tuesdays during term time from 9.30am - 4pm, and is open to men and women of all ages who hold biblical convictions, and want to handle God's word more effectively. It is ideal for Church workers, ‘apprentices’, gap-year students, those considering full-time Christian ministry, schools workers, and indeed anyone who has the opportunity of teaching the Bible and who desires to be better equipped to do so.

The course ideally requires a full year’s commitment. No official homework is set, nor are there any exams. However students are encouraged to do up to 2 hours reading each week to make the most of the material covered.

We are also pleased to announce that the SCMTC offers a follow-on course for a 2nd year at Eastbourne, for those who wish to continue studying and being encouraged and equipped for gospel ministry. Like the first year this will run on Tuesdays for 3 terms of 10 weeks each, and will aim to equip those attending to rightly handle the Word of truth and faithfully pass it on. There will continue to be Biblical exposition, and seminars on ministry issues, but an important focus will be on Christian Doctrine. The 2nd year will involve a little more work outside of the day, and a willingness to wrestle with and engage in more challenging questions.

South Downs Ministry Training Course (SDMTC)

SDMTC runs for 3 terms of 10 weeks each, and is based at Bishop Hannington Church in Hove. The course is held on Thursdays, from 9.30am – 1pm, finishing with lunch together, and then an optional hour of New Testament Greek in the early afternoon. The course is open to men and women of all ages who want to understand the Bible better and be better equipped to handle it, whether that be in leading a small group, as a youth or children’s leader, Christian Union leader, preacher or any other form of Christian ‘word ministry’.

There is no homework other than preparing when it’s your turn to lead a devotional or make a presentation to the preaching group and there are no exams. However students are encouraged to dome some background reading during the week.
